Apples in Brazil

The more I look at it, the more I like the new iMac (new link via Waferbaby). I think Apple has taken the industry another step forward by transforming the personal computer into something touchable, moveable, handle-able.

Perhaps the computer is no longer something to be careful around – no more so than a lamp or television set. Bring the computer down from its throne and touch the thing. Move it. And eventually, break it (well, maybe not at current prices).

Soon, the line between computers and machinery (cars, lawnmowers, electric razors) will blur. Computers will become useful-objects rather than objects-of-desire as we shuffle through our new Brazil-esque world.
