A Bell Rings

I’ve told you before about the first house. This is about the new house.

1955. Concrete block. Big yard, front and back. Attached garage. Single-piece swing-open garage. Swings very wide. May hit car in driveway. Blue storage closets in garage. Workbench made from real wood. Wood floors inside. Italian style kitchen (with cabinetry just like the one in At Close Range where Sean Penn holds a gun to his father (Christopher Walken) who yells “Whoa!” at full volume). Cozy living room. Exposed brick fireplace. Now you get it.

Sitting in the living-room, you might expect George Bailey (played, of course, by young James Stewart) to burst through the front door at any moment, pleading with you that you know him, you know him.
