LOST Finale at RailsConf 2008

Update – 22 May 2008

Now that I’ve got everybody psyched about this, I realize that I probably can’t attend. I’ll be heading for the airport at about 6:00am EST Thursday morning (which means up at about 5:00am EST—early even for me). I’ll be travelling for about 13 hours.

LOST starts at 9:00pm and ends at 11:00pm PST, which will feel like 2:00am for me coming from EST. Staying awake for 24 hours right before a talk would probably be pushing my limits, especially after a full day of travel. Of course my talk is in the first slot the next morning.

While I probably can’t be at my own party. But don’t let that stop you. It looks like there are plenty of people here to make it a great time. Feel free to continue to use the comments here for planning purposes, with my apologies.

RailsConf this year happens to start on the same day as the LOST Season 4 Finale, There’s No Place Like Home Parts 2 & 3.

Although at first I thought I might attempt to wait until I return home to watch, the chances of it being spoiled for me by the Twittertubes is too great.

So I’ve been thinking that it might be fun to organize an informal LOST Finale viewing party for that evening, 29 May 2008, somewhere with HD TV and within walking distance of the convention center.

The idea definitely intrigues me.

Problem is I'm traveling with a non-LOSTy colleague, and I'm not sure I should be galavanting off for two hours somewhere. Since it's rather after-hours it might not be too bad, though.
